Our Story

From combating antimicrobial resistance to advancing holistic public health solutions, NPHAI is growing a generation of leaders driving impact where it matters most. The NextGen Public Health Advocacy Initiative (NPHAI) began as the NextGen Antimicrobial Stewards Initiative (NASI), a youth-led platform focused on combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through awareness, advocacy, and community engagement. As our work expanded, we recognized the interconnected nature of public health challenges and the need for a more holistic approach. This led to our evolution into NPHAI, an organization addressing broader priorities, including One Health, WASH, mental health, reproductive health, and health systems strengthening. NPHAI was formally registered as a nonprofit organization in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on April 3, 2025. Today, NPHAI continues to build on its strong foundation in AMR while driving integrated, community-centered solutions that improve health outcomes and advance global public health.
