Animal Health Programs

Antimicrobial resistance does not begin in hospitals alone. It travels through farms, food systems, and communities. Our AMR Sensitization Programs are rooted in a One Health approach that recognizes the link between animal health and human health. Our Animal Health Programs address antimicrobial misuse at critical points within the food production system, we have engaged over 120 poultry farmers and abattoir workers, focusing on: - Responsible antibiotic use in livestock - Withdrawal periods and residue risks - Farm biosecurity practices - Meat handling hygiene and sanitation - Public health consequences of antimicrobial misuse These interventions strengthen awareness among frontline actors in food production, helping to reduce the risk of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens entering the human food chain. These interventions strengthen awareness across the food value chain and reduce risk at critical control points. By targeting both poultry production and abattoir systems, we address AMR from farm to fork, aligning with a One Health approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.
